'You don't make an uncertain transition'
The urge to keep developing brought Renee to NextGen, and she is now working on an improvement project at Kepro, where she is bringing more structure to the processes through Sales & Operations Planning. Meanwhile, she is following a master's degree to expand her knowledge even further.
Continue to develop
Frank had seen my resume and called me for an appointment. At the time, I had a job where I was fine in terms of content, but I knew that opportunities for advancement were limited.
I am someone who does want to keep developing, I am always open to new ideas. I was triggered by NextGen's Next Level program, but also because of the opportunity to work on an interim basis. The idea of working at different companies, being able to learn everywhere, that really appealed to me. Eventually I was hired at NextGen even without a concrete assignment. That speaks of confidence. NextGen hires you with a permanent contract, so you don't make an uncertain transition.
Next Level program
I found the contact with fellow students during the Next Level program an added value. It was always valuable to be able to spar with colleagues and the trainer about the projects. There was a lot of diversity in terms of clients and the experiences of colleagues provide inspiration for your own project. You also discuss with the group various aspects of personal development. How do you react in certain situations, what is your own way of working? It is good to take a conscious look at this. The Next Level program provides insight and awareness.
Master's degree
Master's degree
I am now halfway through the second year of the Next Level program. In addition to my work, I am studying Master of Operations and Supply Chain Excellence at the TiasNimbas business school. Soon I will start working on my thesis, the final thesis based on practical examples from my work. All in all quite a tough combination, I make long weekends. But I know I want to continue in improvement projects. What appeals to me in that? The cooperation with a company, with the people who work there. Even with employees who are not positive about change, I like the challenge of getting things moving.
Sales & Operations planning
I am currently working on an improvement project at Kepro, a supplier of medicines for animals. Kepro operates mainly in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. I am working to bring more structure to the planning through Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP). I first conducted a quick scan, recommendations came out of that, and we are now implementing some of them. In total, this is a three-month process.

Connected to NextGen
I used to be seconded to one client. Now that I work as an interim, I feel much more connected to NextGen. We speak to each other a lot, about the work but also about my own development. If I run into something, I am in touch with Frank. Not that it happens very often, but the knowledge that you have somewhere to turn is very pleasant. I am very satisfied with NextGen and glad that I took this step.
