Maintenance Engineer at Norit

Together with the maintenance team, you are responsible for the maximum availability and reliability of the plant installations. You achieve this by drawing up and continuously improving preventive maintenance programs based on statistical analyses and inspections. In addition, you provide advice on installations, maintenance methodologies and CAPEX projects. You work according to a continuous improvement process, legal norms and defined standards and ensure that they are implemented correctly.

Furthermore, you ensure structural improvements by drawing up annual plans for improvement projects, coordinating order formulations, carrying out research questions and making plans of action. In doing so, you work together with other engineers and technicians in the plant.

What else are you involved in?

  • You will establish a detailed preventive (long-term) maintenance program and set standards based on regulatory and Norit guidelines.
  • You prepare preventive maintenance plans, with information such as: "What exactly do we need to do?" and "Can we measure something?". These plans must be detailed and well developed, with a clear point of view. You prepare inspection documents, after which it's a matter of continuous improvement.
  • You draw up improvement plans for critical equipment in the event of common failures. For example, that preventive maintenance should be designed smarter, predictive maintenance should be applied or that the installation should be modified.
  • You establish and monitor KPIs to establish, measure and secure the achievement of set maintenance objectives in preventive maintenance plans.
  • Together with the work planner, you will set up the plant's maintenance shutdowns so that they run effectively and efficiently. The goal is to perform as much preventive maintenance as possible in the shortest possible period of time.
  • You will analyze, using RCA (Root Cause Analysis), repetitive technical failures and breakdowns to identify the causes.
  • You report and analyze Cost Drivers (chain costs) and performance losses at line or machine level, aimed at eliminating causes of maintenance sensitivity and deviations. You initiate, facilitate and advise improvement teams to increase plant performance and reliability.
  • Together with the Maintenance Manager, you will set and monitor KPIs to measure achievement of set maintenance goals.
  • You will advise on maintenance contracts related to leasing, SLA, and 24-hour service and enter into these contracts with the Purchasing Department.
  • You will ensure the implementation of improvement projects and process them in CMS (Capital Management System) and JDE (ERP system).
